Eleport’s electric car charging network is set to expand significantly by this summer – ten new charging stations with a total of 20 ports will be installed in Riga, Kegums, Sigulda, and Salacgriva.
“Last year we installed 11 new charging stations in Riga and Jurmala, including the largest charging area at the Domina Shopping multi-story car park which is also the biggest charging area in all of the Eleport network in the Baltics and Poland. This gave Eleport the necessary boost to significantly increase the number of stations installed this year and expand the Eleport network to other parts of Latvia to make the electric car infrastructure convenient and accessible for drivers and ready for the electrification of the transport sector,” says Kārlis Mendziņš, CEO of Eleport in Latvia.
In Riga, a 200 kW* ultra-fast charging station with a charging speed of 1250 km/h or 100 km in five minutes and a 120 kW fast charging station with a charging speed of 750 km/h will be installed in the parking lot of the Rimi store in Vienibas avenue 95, while a 150 kW ultra-fast charging station will be installed at Tilta street 32, Sarkandaugava. A new 22 kW AC or slow charging station, more suitable for charging while shopping, will be installed in the parking lot of the Spice Home shopping center on Lielirbes Street.
Eleport will also expand its charging network in the regions. A 150 kW ultra-fast charging station will be installed near the Kegums hydroelectric power plant (HPP), 200 kW* and 120 kW charging stations in Sigulda in the parking lot of the Šokolāde shopping center, and three new charging stations – 200 kW* and 120 kW fast charging stations and a 22 kW AC station – will be installed in Salacgriva, near the Kapteiņu osta leisure complex. All new charging stations in Riga and the regions will be equipped with two ports, bringing the total number of new Eleport charging ports in Latvia to 20.
The new charging stations will be publicly available to all electric car users. The 200 kW stations will be equipped with two European standard CCS2 cables, the 120 kW stations with both a CCS2 cable and a CHAdeMO cable, and the AC stations with European standard Type 2 sockets.
The new charging stations in the parking lot of the Spice Home shopping center and in the parking lot of the Šokolāde shopping center, will be available for use from February, while the remaining stations are planned to be installed by this summer.
This week, the first Eleport 100 kW charging station in Sigulda, in the parking lot of the Raibais Suns shopping center, started operation, providing the opportunity to charge two electric cars at the same time.
Eleport stations can be used for charging by registered customers using the Eleport app or RFID card, as well as by non-registered customers following the signs on the charging station and pre-paying at uzlade.lv or charge.eleport.com/lv.
